Frequently Asked Questions
MagicMessage
Can I carry on using MagicMessage?
Rest assured we are not withdrawing support for MagicMessage, however we are promoting TextMagic Messenger to our customers because of the extensive new features it contains. You will be able to use MagicMessage into the forseeable future, or at least until our friends at Microsoft come out with a new release of Windows on which MagicMessage does not run.
However we do not intend to update MagicMessage and it does have a few minor bugs. But if you can live with these, then by all means carry on using it.
Minor bugs in MagicMessage
1. Does not update balance at the bottom of the screen (since we moved to www.textmagic.com)
2. Sometimes loses all contacts from the phonebook. This is rare, and can be recovered by using TextMagic Messenger, or by editing the phonebook and replacing LF with CRLF. Or by occasionally backing up the phonebook.
3. When sending to a very large group, it may give a connection error and it is not clear whether messages have been sent or not. If you do get such a connection error you are advised to check your sent message log on-line or check your balance before sending again.
4. For every pound sign in the text message one character will be lost from the end of the message. For messages less than 160 characters, the workaround is to add dummy characters to the end of the message (one for each pound sign in the message).
