Frequently Asked Questions
TextMagic Messenger
Why switch from MagicMessage to TextMagic Messenger - what are the advantages?
TextMagic Messenger (TMM) compared to MagicMessage (MM)
- sent messages are logged with their delivery status
- replies are returned to an inbox (like Outlook)
- if texts can't be sent they will automatically be saved in the outbox for later sending
- it creates linked messages, so that, assuming the receiving phone is modern, long messages will be shown as a single message
- allows you to create templates and so personalise text messsages
-
contacts include several extra fields including company and email
address and (from version 1.2 onwards) Title (Mr.,Mrs. etc.) and 6
spare user-definable fields.
- text messages can be sent in Russian, Arabic, Chinese or Japanese
- it handles very large group sends, automatically breaking them down into small batches
- it is available for both the PC and the Mac
- the protocol between TMM and the server is more robust
- TextMagic will be concentrating on TMM in the future
Changing between MagicMessage and TMM
If you are the only user of your account then switching between MagicMessage and TMM is straightforward, but for those customers where you have several people using MagicMessage on one account, then you will probably need to create a sub-account for each person.
