Connection problem with MagicMessage

We advise all customers using MagicMessage to switch to using TextMagic Messenger.

However, if you really need to, you can still download MagicMessage from here.

MagicMessage has two built-in ways to connect to the TextMagic Server.  The default way uses standard Microsoft software. However this sometimes gives problems with certain personal firewall software and corporate web proxy servers, so it also contains an alternative connection method.

The program will switch automatically from the default to alternative method if it sees a connection problem, but it does not switch back automatically. However you can check what method it is using and switch yourself. If you click on tools you will see a flag labelled use alternative connection. Simply click on the switch to toggle between the two methods.

The alternative connection method uses a hidden instance of your default browser.  Normally this would be Microsoft Internet Explorer.  It may not work with other browsers.

NOTE: A convenient way to check that MagicMessage can connect is to ask it to get you balance.  Run the program and click on tools, select account details and here you will find a "get balance" button.
