What Textmagic is

Textmagic is a business messaging platform for sending SMS and email campaigns, automating notification workflows, and managing two-way conversations. Businesses use it for appointment reminders, delivery updates, shift alerts, payment reminders, broadcasts, and lead follow-up.

Replies are managed in a shared team inbox that brings together SMS and inbound social messaging channels. Email replies are handled separately as tickets. Conversations and contact history are grouped by recipient, so any team member picking up a thread has full context.

Email campaigns are available globally. Business SMS is available in approximately 20 countries, with primary coverage in the US, UK, Australia, and Canada.

Frequently asked questions

What’s included in the free trial?

You get full access to all Textmagic features with no credit card required, plus a small credit balance to test the service. In the US, Canada, Australia, and UK you also get a free texting number for the first month.

How quickly can I start sending after signing up?

It depends on your location. In the US and Canada, you must complete brand and use case (10DLC) registration first, which takes 2-7 business days. In the UK, you can start immediately after selecting a number or Sender ID. In Australia, you can start immediately with a virtual number; Sender ID approval takes up to 14 days. With BYOC, you can start immediately with no additional approvals.

Can I send campaigns via WhatsApp, Facebook, or Instagram?

No. Broadcasts (bulk outbound messaging) are only available for SMS and email. WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram are supported for receiving and responding to inbound messages only.

Can I use Textmagic for 2FA or OTP verification?

No. Textmagic virtual numbers can only receive messages from regular mobile subscribers, not from SMS providers. This makes them unsuitable for 2FA or OTP delivery.

Does Textmagic support group texting?

No. Bulk messages are delivered individually to each recipient. Replies open a private one-on-one conversation. Other recipients cannot see the message was sent to a group.

What sender options are available?

Personal mobile numbers are not supported. You can send using a local dedicated virtual number (supports two-way texting), a Sender ID (your business name, for outbound-only in supported countries), a ported US or Canadian number, or a CPaaS number connected via BYOC (Twilio, Vonage, Sinch, or Bandwidth).

Can I port my existing number to Textmagic?

Yes, for US and Canadian local virtual numbers. Textmagic accepts full porting only. Once ported, the number costs $10/mo. To request porting, contact [email protected]. Alternatively, you can connect your existing CPaaS number via BYOC without porting.

Can I send internationally from one number?

No. Textmagic supports sending within your local region. There is no single number that works across all countries. For international messaging, you need a separate number per country.

Do I need consent before messaging?

Yes. You must obtain explicit consent before sending any SMS or email. Textmagic provides opt-in forms and keyword-based subscription tools to help collect consent. Contacts who reply STOP are automatically unsubscribed.

Is Textmagic GDPR compliant?

Yes. Textmagic is GDPR compliant and SOC 2 Type II certified. All data is encrypted in transit using 256-bit SSL. Textmagic does not share or sell user data to third parties.
