New Year is one of the most universally celebrated holidays on the calendar. In other words, it’s the ideal time to reach out to your SMS customer base and send a simple Happy New Year text to let them know you appreciate their business and wish them a prosperous forthcoming year.
For this reason, we’ve created some NYE SMS templates to help you connect with your customers this New Year. We hope they’ll make your messaging easier and more impactful!
Why send New Year’s text messages?
New Year’s texts are a quick and impactful way to connect with your audience. Whether it’s thanking loyal clients, offering exclusive promotions, or sharing well wishes, SMS lets you leave a lasting impression as the year begins.
Text messaging remains one of the most effective marketing channels, with higher open rates than email. By crafting personalized messages that resonate emotionally or highlight immediate benefits, you can engage your audience and start the New Year on the right foot.
Different industries can capitalise on New Year’s Eve by offering relevant discounts, promotions, tips, and advice. Here are some of the best ways to send your clients a meaningful New Year’s greeting.
1. Share tips and advice
New Year is the time when most people make New Year’s resolutions. A 2024 Forbes Health survey showed that 48% of respondents set improving fitness as their top priority for the next year. If you’re in the fitness niche, you should know that weight loss is the number one New Year’s resolution.
Happy New Year text promotions are a great way to motivate clients towards their goals for the following year. Offer a special discount as added motivation to hit the gym, hire a personal trainer, or take up another activity:

Nutrition and weight loss companies can let people know they’re available to help with their goals. Along with discounts and promotions, you can send tips on how to maintain a healthy weight.

Beauty salons can share hairstyle or make-up advice for those wanting to look their best on New Year’s Eve. Sending your clients meaningful messages around New Year’s can boost customer loyalty and improve satisfaction.

2. Offer timed promotions and discounts
Post-Christmas sales are still booming around New Year. You can take this opportunity of texting Happy New Year to your clients. Also mention discounts to your store. Retail stores can capitalise on this by slashing prices or offering enticing deals to bring post-holiday shoppers to their locations.
This New Year may not be a bit challenging for restaurants, bars, or event coordinators, but there are still ways to advertise via SMS despite restrictions. Let people know about your indoor seating conditions, or delivery offers by including links and videos in your New Year’s texts.

Millennials are incredibly responsive to SMS messages, so locations that cater to younger crowds will have a happier New Year’s Eve if they market their event via text. Who wouldn’t love a special takeaway deal from their favorite restaurant on New Year’s Eve?

3. Share inspirational Happy New Year texts
Maybe you want your customers to know you wish them a Happy New Year. You can do this by sending an inspirational quote that will make them ponder.
Self-improvement is another popular New Year’s resolution, so you can send your clients a quote to encourage them. A message that has meaning and significance can help clients remember your business.
4. Stand out with visual messages
A Happy New Year video or photo from your staff can add a nice personalised touch to your client base. Or a beautiful photo with a message wishing them a Happy New Year can help spread holiday cheer. Photos and videos can be effective ways to get your message across.
5. Push nonprofit campaigns and thank donors
It’s no secret that charity giving increases dramatically around the holidays. As a nonprofit, you can text donors with info on how their donation will make a difference in the following year. You can catch the height of the giving season with a New Year’s donation campaign push.

The highest amount of donations given by text come from 49–59-year-olds (Baby Boomers). After that, the biggest spenders are Gen Xers. The most popular organisations with Gen Xers and Millennials are youth development programs. Baby Boomers tend to donate to religious charities.
Whether you’re running a text-to-give campaign or promoting an event, bulk business texting is the ideal way to increase support for your organisation and meet your business goals.
