Step #1: Create a dedicated contact list for tenants from your TextMagic Dashboard. Head-over to the “Custom Fields” tab and define the attributes that you will be using for your merge fields (e.g. “rent”, “rent due”). For every new tenant, you will have to edit these details manually during opt-in.
Step #2: Create an SMS template for rent reminders using relevant custom fields. Please check out our property management SMS template examples below.
Step #3: Navigate to “Compose”, add your tenant contact list in the ‘To’ field and insert your SMS template. Instead of hitting SEND, click on “Schedule text message“.
Step #4: Schedule your text as recurring, every month. Choose the day when you want the text sent and the time when you want the scheduled text to stop running.
Step #5: View your SMS in the calendar and hit save.
